In the course of creating a few illustrations for Burning Snow, I amassed a number of images arising from the collision of my imagination with a digital art program and image editing software. I consider these images more akin to photographs than works of art. In photography the eye “discovers”an image and uses the “artificial intelligence”of the digital camera to capture it. With digital images such as you find here, the “eye”is a collaboration of imagination and language, and the “camera” is a software program analogous to, but different from, the program operating a physical camera. In both cases you end up with the image which may or may not be to your liking. The images I present here are among the relatively few images I created that were to my personal liking. I hope some of the appeal to your non-digital eyes
